The island of Nantucket created with masking fluid and a lot of water. Might as well use water to make water don’t you think?

I am finding it hard to sketch on vacation, feeling a bit out of my element. I am finding that I prefer the solace of my studio to the kitchen table in the Knoll. Go figure… Vacation is relaxing. I’m relaxed. My ultimate idea of relaxing is to create, paint, beach and paint some more. But… just not feeling it. However, I’m going to keep persevering. Thank God for my Hipstamatic app. Something to give this illustration of the “Sunken Ship” row boat in the harbor a little life.

Vacation Baby!!!

That’s right! I’m off. Nothing but sun, sand and surf where my only care will be if the tide is gonna reach my chair… Nantucket here I come!

This watercolor illustration of these groovy colorful bracelets is making me go gaga! I’m feeling more in vogue by the moment. My painting-a-day inspiration is encouraging me to venture out into the world with a dose of flair!

Cosmopolitan magazine claims it is “the lifestyle for millions of fun fearless females who want to be the best they can in every area of their lives.” Cosmopolitan the drink claims it is a fabulous fountain of forgetfulness that will take away all my cares and woes. And after a day like today, that’s all this fearless female can think about… Let’s go people. Momma needs a martini! Complete of course with a long blue straw.

I am fascinated with foxes. I love photos of them, paintings of them and definitely seeing them out my window. We had a resident fox who lived in our backyard for a while. We named him Luke… Luke Sidewalker. He liked to walk around sideways. Perhaps he’d had a few too many. He moved on soon after a very windy storm knocked over the pine tree he was living under. The fox in this sketch I like to think of as Luke after I have invited him into my home for cocktails. Of course, he would insist on taking the comfy chair.

A painting a day? Why not. Well, we will see if I can do it. Ok, maybe every other day, depending on how inspiration strikes and if time allows. Right now I’m envisioning my life with this MZ Wallace sequin tote in my possession. What a wonderful contribution this would make to the things I carry around daily. My wallet would be so happy.
