You know what they say… “An apple a day…”

Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads out there! But especially to mine, whom we all affectionately refer to as Gus. A nick name I gave him when I was a little girl. A guy who tossed us all in the air and let us know that we all had wings… To Gus… the best Dad EVER!

Just finished this lake house painting for a new friend of mine. What a wonderful place to spend those long summer days. The child in me just wants to dive in to the cool water of Rushford Lake, swim all day long and come home with a sunburn. Then at night, roast marshmallows around a camp fire and eat way too many smores while catching a bazillion fireflies. I surely hope my new pal enjoys this painting and summers at the lake for years to come.

Today, I want to do my hair, wear fancy clothes, put on some bling and just be girly. I might even wear pink… Do I have anything pink? hmmm… Note to self: buy something pink for the next time I’m finding myself feelin’ girly. xoxo

Summer has officially begun!.. for my kids that is. Oh, how I truly miss those carefree days with absolutely no responsibilities — except getting to the dinner table on time. Those lucky kids will never realize how good they have it… til they’re my age that is. Frank Capra sure had it right… “Youth is wasted on the wrong people.”

So today I’m wrapping up my spring and focusing all my attention on enjoying summer as if I were 10 again. Here’s to feeling young! Happy Summer Everyone!
