Someone once asked me if I’ve ever painted anyone famous. My response… “well, not really.” I don’t know why… Just never really appealed to me. I prefer fashion models and real people, mostly because they’re in a way “nameless.” Well, the other day I was doing my usual internet research looking for something to paint when I had an idea and googled “rolling stone t-shirt” and in front of me appeared this photo of Meg Ryan. Well, I immediately thought… “I’m going to paint that body and replace her head with mine.” After many failed attempts at trying to take selfies with that same come-hither-look, I came to the realization that I’m not as sexy as Meg and I should just paint her… My first actual celebrity portrait. If she ever stumbles across it, I hope she thinks I’ve done her proud.
